Based in Berlin, the und.Institut for art, culture and sustainability is the initiator and coordinator of these explorations. The team is led by Dr. Hildegard Kurt and Dr. Andreas Weber.
Andreas Weber, PhD, biologist and philosopher, has contributed extensively to developing the concept of enlivenment in recent years, notably through his essay Enlivenment. Towards a fundamental shift in the concepts of nature, culture and politics (published by the Heinrich Boell Stiftung in 2013), and through Dr. Weber´s new book, The Biology of Wonder. Aliveness, Feeling, and the Metamorphosis of Science (Gabriola Island, B.C.: New Society Press, 2016). Subjective Feeling as the Moving Force in All Life, a preprint of the introduction has been published by KOSMOS Journal in its summer 2015 issue. Contact: a.weber@und-institut.de
Hildegard Kurt, PhD, is a cultural researcher, author and social sculpture practitioner. Her work focuses on aesthetic education and the relationship of sustainability with art and culture. She gives talks, leads seminars and workshops like From Deep Down or The Shifting Gardens and initiates cultural projects. She proposes the concept of predisciplinarity as a new, fundamental design and discovery approach, linking science and art. Contact: h.kurt@und-institut.de
